Call for Applications for VISITING RESEARCHER（1st Deadline: Tuesday 30 June, 2026）
Kyushu University EU Centre invites applications for Visiting Researchers to promote international collaborative research and academic exchange. We welcome enthusiastic researchers from around the world who wish to conduct collaborative research utilizing our Centre’s facilities and resources.
１．Research Fields
Any research area in Humanities, Social Sciences or Natural Sciences concerning the EU, its member states or Europe is welcome. In particular, priority will be given to research related to “environment” and “democratic citizenship,” which are the core research and educational areas of the Jean Monnet CoE Kyushu third stage (JMCoE-Q3) funded by the Erasmus+ programme, currently being implemented by the EU Centre.
２．Eligibility
（1）Be affiliated with a university or other research institution as a researcher.
（2）Have obtained a Ph.D. degree or have equivalent research capabilities.
（3）Have intention to give at least one lecture at a seminar, symposium or public lecture organised by the EU Centre during your tenure.
３．Period of Tenure
Up to 1 year from 1 April 2027 to 31 March 2028
*The starting date and duration can be flexibly adjusted upon consultation.
４．Research Environment
・Access to the university’s libraries and university network/Wi-Fi.
・If you require a research lab or office, please consult, in advance, with the EU Centre and the department corresponding to your research field.
５．Status, Expenses & Housing
・Status:
Visiting Researcher or Visiting Professor ※The status of Visiting Professor may be given if the EU Centre determines that a candidate possesses research experience equivalent to that of a professor.
・Financial Support:
This position is strictly unpaid. No stipends, travel expenses or research funds will be provided by the university. All living and travel expenses must be covered by the applicant or their home institution.
・Housing:
The university does NOT provide any housing or guest houses.

７．Application Deadline
・1st deadline: Must arrive by Tuesday, June 30, 2026
・2nd deadline: Must arrive by Thursday December 31, 2026
８．Selection & Submission
A decision will be made after careful review by the KU EU Centre Research Sub-Committee and the Centre Committee, and the applicants will be notified the result within one or two months.
