The EU-Studies Diploma Programme (EU-DPs) has profoundly resonated with me in light of its direct alignment with my professional responsibilities as a civil servant in charge of the EU desk at the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia.

The programme has significantly enriched my comprehension of EU trade policies and advanced regulatory frameworks, particularly related to Artificial Intelligence, which afforded me a precious opportunity to be entrusted with more demanding tasks encompassing trade policy negotiation and formulation. Furthermore, the acquisition of an in-depth knowledge of the EU legislation has further enhanced my ability to cooperatively engage with the EU focal person, facilitating the strengthening and expansion of bilateral trade relations between Cambodia and the EU. This also allows both parties to jointly underpin a rules-based multilateral trading system. In like manner, the programme has enabled me to navigate the complexity of international trade law and its practical implications for national economic policy thanks to my enhanced analytical and critical thinking skills.

Last but not least, I am sincerely indebted to the Young Leaders’ Program (YLP) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan, my esteemed supervisor Professor Peter Lee, as well as the dedicated faculty members of both the Graduate School of Law at Kyushu University and the EU-DPs, for their priceless contributions to my academic and professional development, transforming me into a well-rounded and globally-minded practitioner. I am delighted to generate positive impacts in my local community and beyond.
